The Astronomy Club is wrapping up their year with one last meeting on December 29 at 6:30pm at the library. New members are welcome! No experience necessary.

The topic for discussion will be:

Saying “goodbye” to the ESA’s Gaia probe.  After over ten years of mapping our galaxy, the Gaia satellite has been placed in a ‘retirement’ orbit around the sun.

And an exoplanet that comes straight out of a sci-fi movie.  Cancri 55e is a super Earth that boasts a diamond core and rains shards of diamonds.
