Join us at the Champlain Library’s movie night on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Creating Centre in Vankleek Hill to celebrate National Canadian Film Day (CanFilmDay)! Doors open at 6 PM for a 6:30 start.

We’re featuring the inspirational Canadian film “Peace by Chocolate,” based on the true story of a charming young Syrian refugee who struggles to settle into Canadian small-town life, torn between pursuing his dream of becoming a doctor and preserving his family’s chocolate-making legacy.

Additionally, in line with the theme, you’ll have the chance to indulge in and purchase delicious chocolate treats from Le Petit Pain Bakery, along with enjoying a refreshing coffee or tea.

Canadian films offer a unique lens through which to explore our diverse cultural landscape and shared experiences. CanFilmDay is a fantastic opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the richness of Canadian storytelling.

Entry is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. Don’t miss out on this chance to experience the magic of Canadian cinema and connect with your neighbors. Register at here or by calling the library at 613-678-2216. We hope to see you there!
